Trip to the Zoo

This weekend the weather warmed up and we escaped the confines of our own zoo for the novelty of a different one. Unfortunately, most of the animals were hiding out, so we saw ducks, flamingoes, lions (sleeping) and rhinoceroses:


The botanical gardens were much warmer, even though their primary attraction was the Monkey-sized railings on the stairs.

Random January

January has been a busy month at the zoo! Monkey is growing (1 lb and 1 inch between Thanksgiving and Christmas - and we suspect the trend is continuing) and learning new things every day. True to his animal nature he loves to climb, climb, climb... and then hurl himself off the highest peak. While, shall we say, interesting, this activity does not lend itself to many photo ops. As you can see, he is also quite fond of big people shoes. If this growing keeps up, he may fit in them soon!
