Cousin Party

Before we were sick, Cousin R (and Grandma & Grandpa T and Aunt M) came over and spent the evening. A good time was had by all.

There was a bath before the tunnel, but we have a
strict no-nakey-photos-on-the-blog policy.

Aunt M tried to read stories, I think she made it through 3 or 4 pages of this one.

Carrots and Cement

Unfortunately, we have spent the past week overwhelmed by a nasty cold. We are feeling a bit better but are still fighting hard. It's put quite the damper on our end of summer plans. Nevertheless, there have been some exciting, if perhaps more subdued, adventures.

This carrot came from our very own yard!! (And was returned to the compost pile after being thoroughly gnawed.)
We also got new sidewalks and curbs on our street, a project that has provided an endless parade of jackhammers, trucks, backhoes, construction workers, etc. right outside our window. Monkey particularly enjoys the cement trucks:

After a few weeks of this project, the Zoo Keepers are probably just as excited to see them all leave. :)
